Feasts
During the medieval period the main source of entertainment were feasts. At feasts they would socialize, sell their belongings and most important, eat. The upper class people in society would eat hunted meat, they wouldn't normally allow for them to eat vegetables and fruits because they were seen as peasant food. The peasants relied mainly on pigs for their regular supply of meat, but sheep and lambs were small, thin creatures and their meat was not highly valued.Whenever a feast took place, squires were carefully allocated with the planning, hard work and organisation that was required. After the dishes were prepared by the cooks for the feasts, esquires were required to place them on dresses in the kitchen, before being carried to the tables. Before the guests were able to be seated they were required to wash their hands at the entrance of the Great Hall. Their meals consisted of three to six courses with sometimes, their main courses were made to look like a theme for a theatre.
